Our Good On You 5K charity run/walk is a fun costume (optional) race where interested race participants will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from a variety of charities to learn more about their mission and volunteer opportunities!

This year we have a new USATF certified 5K course that runs along Mission Bay. Please go to the “Course” tab for more information and pictures of our new course!
Pre-registrater online via Active.com. Pre-registration closes Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 at midnight. (NOTE: Only those that pre-register by Sunday, October 20th, 2013 are guaranteed a T-shirt).
Early Packet-Pick-Up/ Race Day Registration:
Early packet pick up registration is from 4-7pm Friday, October 25th at Milestone Running company located at 2545 El Cajon Blvd. Race day registration is from 7:45-8:45am Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at Crown Point (near the race start). Please note: both early packet pick up AND race day registration is CASH only and is $35 for adults. Please note that t-shirts for early packet pick up and race day registrants are not guaranteed and are given on a first come first served basis since we are now pulling from an estimated overflow supply (remember, only online pre-registrants are guaranteed a shirt)!
Early packet pick-up available from 4-7pm on Friday, October 25th, 2013 at Milestone Running located at 2545 El Cajon Blvd Suite D, San Diego, CA 92104 (on the corner of El Cajon and Hamilton- all street parking) Race day pick-up will also be available from 7:45am-8:45am on Saturday, October 26th, 2013 at the race site.
Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for the Good On You 5K Charity Run/Walk; however, costumes are NOT mandatory. Please ensure that your costume will remain secure and intact during the run, is appropriate and will not present a hazard to you, other participants or passersby.
Costume Contest Entry:
If you would like to enter the costume contest, make sure to arrive by 8:40AM when we will line you up in front of the judges! We will tally up the scores and announce the winners after the race
Ages 12 and over: $25 (online pre-registration)
$35 (race day registration and registration at early packet pick-up)
Ages 2-11 and under: $15 (pre and race day registration)
Children under 2: free
Timing using a bib/chip system will be provided by Race Timers and results will be posted on our website after the race.
Medals & Prizes:
Medals for the top 3 male and female runners will be given.
Prizes for the best individual (male and female) and best group costume will be given out. Raffle prizes will also be given to those with eligible raffle cards (see raffle below). Participants must be present to receive any medals, prizes or raffle awards.
Representatives from various charities will be located at tables near finish area so that any interested participants can interact with them to learn more about their mission and volunteer opportunities. Additionally, each year we have 3 “highlighted” charities that will be denoted at the mile markers. These highlighted charities will receive 10% of our race profits. If we do not make a profit on the race, we will donate $500 to each charity from our own funds as long as it is financially possible. Our highlighted charities this year are: CATS, San Diego Habitat For Humanity and Mama’s Kitchen.
At the end of the race, pick up a raffle entry form from our volunteer. To make your entry form valid for the raffle, visit the different charity tables to learn about their volunteer opportunities and have the charity representative stamp your form. Entries that have 3 or more stamps will be eligible for participation in the raffle.
Crown Point park has several free surface parking lots that are located near the race start/finish.
The event will be held rain or shine! We reserve the right to cancel the race without refunds is severe weather occurs.
This year we have reformatted the race so that all ages can participate. Children under 12 MUST be with a parent or legal guardian during the entire race. Additionally, we do NOT allow for strollers etc… (see restrictions) on the race course, so if your child is unable to walk/run the entire course you will have to move off the race course to ensure the safety of others. All children (under 18) must also have a waiver form signed by a parent or legal guardian to participate.
T-shirts & Wristbands:
T-shirts are guaranteed only for those that pre-register prior to Sunday, October 20th, 2013 @ 11:59pm PST. All participants will receive a free wristband for participating in the event.
Registration is limited to the first 500 people. This year strollers are allowed in but they must be at the back of the race. For the safety of our participants, pets, skates, skateboards, bikes and scooters are not allowed. We reserve the right to refuse others modes of transportation not listed here (other than your own two feet!).
Race Day Schedule:

8:40-8:50am Costume contest entry & runners line up
8:50am Opening ceremonies
9:00am 5K run/walk commences
9:30-10:30am Finish line festivities, meet the charities, medals, costumes and raffle prizes awarded
There will be some short stretch sessions after the race led by Pura Vida yoga this year. So after you finish interacting with the charities, go stretch it out! This is an informal stretch on the grass without mats. You may get a little damp if the ground is still wet from the morning dew, but it can just mix in with that post race sweat
