Good On You 5K Charity Run/Walk

Run for FUN! Run with PURPOSE!

Event Information:

Date: Saturday, October 22nd, 2011
Location: Crown Point (Mission Bay Area), San Diego, CA 92109
(Here is a street address to get you to the park: 3750 Corona Oriente Rd, San Diego, CA)
Start time: 8:00am
Packet Pick-Up/ Race Day Registration: 6:30-7:45am    (Race day registration is CASH only)
Pre-registration: Click on the registration link to the left or go to the registration tab on our website.
Pre-registration closes: October 16th, 2011 at midnight (NOTE: only those who pre-register by midnight October 16th, 2011 will receive T-shirts)
Costumes: Participants are encouraged to wear costumes for the charity 5K run/walk  Note: Costumes are encouraged but are not mandatory.  Please ensure that your costume will remain secure and intact during the run, is appropriate and will not present a hazard to you, other participants or passersby.
Cost: $25 for pre-registration; $35 for race-day registration
Timing: Participants will be timed using conventional bib timing with Prime Time and results will be posted on our website after the race.
Prizes: Prizes for the best individual (male and female) and best group costume will be given out. A raffle prize will also be given out. To enter the raffle see details below.
Charities: Each year we will highlight 3 main charities, one near each mile marker.  We will also have various charities located at tables at the end of the race course that are available to interact with any participants that would like to learn about their volunteer opportunities.
Raffle participation: At the end of the race, pick up a raffle entry form from our volunteer.  To make your entry form valid for the raffle, visit different charity tables to learn about their volunteer opportunities and have your form stamped.  Entries that have 3 or more stamps can be entered for the raffle prize.
Parking: Parking lots within Crown Point park will be open UNTIL 7:30am.  Parking will then be temporarily closed for the beginning of the race and will reopen after the race participants have cleared the start region.  If you arrive after 7:30am you will need to find street parking.
Weather: The event will be held RAIN or SHINE! (Hopefully shine!) We reserve the right to cancel the race without refunds if severe weather occurs.
Age limit: The 5K run/walk is open to participants that are 12 and older.  Minors (under 18) must have waivers signed by their parents.
Sanctions: We are a USATF sanctioned event!

Participants that pre-register on or before October 16th, 2011 will receive a free t-shirt.  All participants will receive a free wristband after crossing the finish line.  Registration is limited to the first 500 people.
For the safety of our participants, pets, strollers, skates, skateboards, bikes and scooters are not allowed.

Race Day Schedule:
6:30-7:45 am                Packet pick-up & race day registration (cash only)
7:45-8:00 am                Opening ceremonies & runners line up
8:00 am                         5K Run/Walk Commences (Runners line up at the front; walkers in the back)
8:30-11:00 am              Finish line festivities, meet the charities, costume prizes and raffle prize awarded

NOTE: All participants must start at the 8:00am start time.  The race course will officially close 1.5 hours after the race commences (i.e. around 9:30am). Please make sure you can finish within that time frame.
